UFC Fight Island Ortega vs Korean Zombie Betting Breakdown

Hello everyone, and welcome to another edition of BinK iT. The UFC has been once again very kind to me lately. This brings our record to 27-1-6 since September. I try my best every week to watch tape and then use my knowledge in the end to make accurate predictions. Things don't always go our way in the fight business but let's make the best out of it! I tend to love fight island, since we rarely have people miss weight or drop out of their fight last minute like they do in Vegas. Got 11 fights to break down, so let's get right into it.

Ortega vs Korean Zombie

I really hope Ortega's striking has gotten better. Besides the knockout of Edgar, I really haven't seen much from him besides amazing cardio and great submissions. Both have been on the shelf for a while, but I see the Korean Zombie coming out strong, dictating the pace of the fight and taking it anywhere he would like. I see this ending in a 3rd knockout or decision.

Jessica Andrade vs Katlyn Chookagian

This is a really tough fight to break down for me. At least it is a high level women's mma fight. Jessica tenacity and strength can really carry her a long way in any division she wishes to compete in. On the other side you have Chookagian, a technical striker with a high fight IQ. She is also 8 inches taller than Andrade and that can cause problems for her to get inside and land her usual bombs. In the end, this is very close to call. I'll go ahead and give the edge to Chookagian to win a decision.

Modestas Bukauskas vs Jimmy Crute

Modestas last opponent quit in the octagon between rounds. He is a good fighter but still very green. On the other side, Jimmy Crute is also green, but has shown more promise as his last 4 fights came in UFC against good competition. Jimmy needs to be smart and try to take Modestas down early and look for a finish. I see this ending inside the distance with Jimmy crute coming out on top.

Claudio Silva vs James Krause

Another tight fight to call. I never seem to get Claudio right. Everytime I watch his tape I'm like this is an auto fade, then he comes out subbing fools left and right. As for James, I've watched a lot of his fights throughout his career and I can say that he has gotten better with age. I'm still having a hard time calling the fight. If James escapes the sub, then he should cruise to decision victory or late stoppage and for that reason he will be my pick.

Thomas Almeida vs Jonathan Martinez

This has FIGHT OF THE NIGHT written all over it. Both these guys are not afraid to throw knees and punches up the middle in the pocket. I really like this fight for Almeida to come out on top either by KO or desicon.

Mateusz Gamrot vs Guram Kutaleladze

After tape study, Garmot is all about the takedowns and top control but his striking is coming along but still very green. Guram is a beast and loves to strike and if Gamrot decides to stand and test his striking this could go very bad. But overall baring a KO loss, I see Gamrot taking a split decision.

Gillian Robertson vs Poliana Botelho

OMG PASS! Low level. If I had a gun to my head, give me Robertson.

Jun Yong Park vs John Phillips

Same as above. If I had a gun to the head, give me Park.

Fares Ziam vs Jamie Mullarkey

Watching tape on Fares when he fought madge, I saw potential but the guy is still green and young. On the other side, Mullarkey has fought the better competitions and seems to have a similar skill set to Madge. Mullarkey should be able to control the fight and win a decision in the end.

Gadzhimurad Antigulov vs Maxim Grishin

Mr. Antigulov, at this age this guy can't go past the 1st round. This has Maxim Grishin written all over it! Give me a finish in this spot.

Said Nurmagomedov vs Mark Striegl

Striegl really needs to work quick in the first round to take Said down and try to submit him. I don't see this happening in this spot. Said should be able to keep this standing and pick away at Striegl to win a decision or get a late stoppage.

Quick Picks

Korean Zombie

Chookagian

Crute

Almeida

Krause

Gamrot

Robertson

Park

Grishin

Nurmagomedov

Mullarkey

I really like all the Favorites this week! GOOD LUCK !
